National Safety Council "FLAGGER" now available
through the Safety and Ed Fund


Hello to all,

I am pleased to announce that the “IBEW Local 196/NECA Safety and Education Trust Fund”
is now able to offer a Three (3) year certification for Illinois Flagger through the NSC.  This
class/certification is scheduled for 4 hours starting at 9AM-1PM (dates are on the calendar)
and will be held at the IBEW local 196 Union Hall meeting room located at 1831 Suncast Lane,
Batavia IL 60510.***********PLEASE CHECK BACK ONE (1) WEEK PRIOR TO CLASS START
DATE IF THERE IS A LACK OF PARTICIPATION AND CLASS IS CANCELLED IT WILL BE
REFLECTED ON THE CALENDAR (found on the Calendar tab above)

Medic First Aid /
CPR now available
through the Safety
and Ed Fund


Hello to all,

I am pleased to announce that the
“IBEW 196/NECA Safety and
Education Trust Fund” is now able
to offer a two year certification
for CPR-First Aid through Medic
First Aid.  In an effort to reduce
the amount of time spent in a
classroom this class/certification
will be offered as a blended
learning class, which simply means
that you can do the book work
portion online at your
convenience, and once you have
successfully completed you will be
eligible for your skills assessment
and written test, which will take
place at the IBEW local 196 Union
Hall meeting room located at 1831
Suncast Lane, Batavia IL 60510.
All interested in taking a class/certification must be working or have worked under the 196-A
or 196-B
agreement in the last 3 months.

Please sign up for the Member Orientation/IBEW
Code of Excellence class found on the class calendar
on the IBEW Local 196 website.  This class will give
you a much needed understanding of the Local and
how it works (Benefits, CBA, etc.) as well as a Code
of Excellence card from the International Office.
